Hate Monger Watch List #1: Ann Coulter

There are certainly a whole bevy of people out there doing their best to spread the word of hate and bigotry. In today's current political climate, this movement of hate seems to be gathering both power and influence. This hopefully regular entry will highlight some of our contemporary "avatars of antipathy."

And of course, such a list wouldn't have any meaning without including at its very top, the current diva of derision and anti-diversty herself, Ann Coulter. This right-wing pundit/pseudo-celebrity/100% wacko has managed to finagle her way to popularity by deriding and demeaning every minority, religion (excepting the christians) and progressive or non-conservative movement out there. She even appears on the cover of the most recent issue of Time! She is the darling of the christian conservatives and has written many best-selling books and has a couple regular columns.

You can read some of her best literary and oral gems of bigotry here:

If you have a stronger stomach, you can also read a lot more from and about her, from left, right and center perspectives:

Dear jsully,

Thanks for your comment. Always stand up for what you believe in as long as it does not harm others! While I certainly don't argue at all that Ms. Coulter has just as much right to speak and voice her opinions as everyone else; myself, liberals, fundamentalist Muslims, or even neo-nazis included. However that does not mean I have to respect what she says and especially for how she says it (she certainly shows nothing but outright contempt for anyone who disagrees with her right-wing views - look at the plethora of quotes from out on the web!).

Let's start by looking at her credentials though, shall we? She has a fucking law degree and she briefly was a low-level aide for a senator. How does that make her any more of an "expert" to speak about politics and social issues than me or anyone else?

No offense, but if you think a lot of what she says makes sense, then in my humble opinion you need to wake the fuck up. Anne Coulter and her ilk want nothing more than for everyone to become little more than mindless automatons slaving away for the profit margin of the anti-information, anti-democratic corporate-conservative powers that be (and keep in mind I am just using my constitutionally protected free speech rights to voice my own opinion here).

Anyways, I appreciate you voicing your opinion - feel free to respond back - I love a good, civil, open-minded argument...

Peace!
